Clerkship Rotations

Corrs is a corporate law firm, acting for organisations, rather than individuals. The firm works through three main operating divisions:

  • Corporate, Finance & Tax (Energy & Resources, Corporate Advisory, Banking & Finance and Taxation)
  • Property & Development (Property & Infrastructure, Environment & Planning and Construction)
  • Litigation and Workplace Relations (Litigation, Workplace Relations, Intellectual Property, Technology & Competition)

Brisbane/ Melbourne/ Perth: Clerks are invited to submit preferences and every effort will be made to allocate you to your preferred practice group for the duration of the program.

Sydney: The program involves a unique rotation system, whereby you will participate in three rotations, which gives you the opportunity to work across all divisions. Clerks are also provided with the opportunity to shadow lawyers undertaking a pro bono secondment to a Community Legal Centre.

 

Brisbane

Applications are open to all students in their penultimate year of their law degree with interviews taking place in Brisbane.

If your application is successful, you will have the choice of either joining the Program as a winter clerk in June/July, a spring clerk in August/September or as a summer clerk in November/December, all of our Clerkship Programs run for three weeks.

Positions available: Approximately 35 across three programs

Melbourne

Applications are open to all students in their penultimate year of their law degree with interviews taking place in Melbourne.

If your application is successful, you will have the choice of either joining the Program as a Summer 1 clerk in November/December, a Summer 2 clerk in January/February or as a Winter clerk in June/July, all of our Clerkship Programs run for approximately three weeks.

Positions available: Approximately 30-35 across three programs

Perth

If your application is successful, you will have the choice of joining one of two summer Programs or one winter Programs, for a three week duration.

Positions available: Approximately 22-24 across three programs

Sydney

Applications are open to all students in their penultimate year of their law degree with interviews taking place in Sydney.

If your application is successful, you will join as a summer clerk in November/December. The Clerkship Program runs over the summer months for approximately 12 weeks.

Clerks are encouraged to 'shadow' partners and lawyers on activities such as meetings with clients, barristers or witnesses; client phone calls; and court appearances. The program promotes a more hands-on approach to developing your knowledge and skills.
