For years University of Adelaide Law School Senior Lecturer Dr. Matthew Stubbs has been working to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law students and supporting Indigenous students through their studies.

Dr. Stubbs’ has also worked to create alternative pathways to law school for Indigenous students, and raised awareness in Indigenous communities of law as a study option.

In recognition of his work, Dr. Stubbs recently received a national award from the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) for outstanding contributions to student learning.

“Legal education offers Indigenous students the opportunity to make a real difference in their communities. I feel really privileged to work with these fantastic students and help them develop the skills to become successful legal professionals and the next generation of Aboriginal leaders”, Dr. Stubbs said.

“I want to make sure that each and every one of them has the opportunity to shine”.
