Nathan Fawkes, Jarrad Gould and Rodney Worth

A team from the University of Notre Dame has taken out this year’s Administrative Appeals Tribunal National Mooting Competition. Represented by law students Nathan Fawkes, Jarrad Gould and Rodney Worth, Notre Dame (Fremantle campus) defeated the team from the University of Queensland (comprising of Elizabeth Stanley, Georgia Williams and Jessica Apel) in a closely contested final.

Worth was named the Best Speaker of the competition.

AAT President the Honourable Justice Duncan Kerr SC, Deputy President Philip Hack SC and Senior Member Egon Fice adjudicated the final.

A total of 27 teams from 16 universities took part in the 9th AAT Moot, which was held in Brisbane last month. Students competed over five rounds, and dealt with a diverse range of administrative law issues, such as social security, veterans’ affairs, workers’ compensation, immigration and citizenship, and taxation.
