Sydney and Melbourne have been named among the top five cities in the world for students. In the QS Best Student Cities Rankings for 2013, Paris was the top-rated city for students, followed by London and Singapore. Sydney was named fourth best in the world, and Melbourne shared fifth place with Zurich.
Cities were rated according to the number and quality of universities, the reputation that universities in each city have with employers, student population and international student population, lifestyle, tuition fees and cost of living.
Six Australian cities made the list of the top 50 cities for students:
4. Sydney
=5. Melbourne
26. Brisbane
30. Perth
37. Canberra
=38. Adelaide
