Arc de Triumph

Monash University is celebrating after a successful debut at the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris earlier this month.

After several days of competition, Monash students Tessa Sullivan, Jemima Roe, Joanna Paul and Julia Larner faced the team from Ludwig-Maxmillians University of Munich in the grand final.

Monash was defeated in the final, placing second in the overall competition and also taking home awards for the best Mediation Plan and best Advocacy.

This year’s competition attracted 66 teams from 33 countries.

Teams in the ICC Mediation Competition work with a mediator and use their negotiation and collaboration skills to reach a settlement in a complex commercial dispute scenario.
