Off the back of our article where we went back to the '90s and '00s to look at Australian top-tier firm's websites (duh, what else would you do if you had a time machine?), we were shocked to discover that many looked like websites we created in primary school on Dreamweaver.
We thought we would do the same for the major law firms in New Zealand and below is what we found. We love the Internet.
Buddle Findlay - 19 October 1996
The background - we're just going to leave it there. Let's not even talk about the highlighting.
Rudd Watts & Stone (now MinterEllisonRuddWatts) - 28 December 1996
Have I accidentally gone to www.worldmap.com? Very blue.
Bell Gully - 8 May 1999
The proportions and margins are all wrong.
Chapman Tripp - 22 December 1996
A rarity on websites in 1996 - photos of real people and not just clip art.
Russell McVeagh - 14 November 1996
Interesting logo...or motif. The labyrinth of law perhaps?
Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper New Zealand) - 22 December 1996
Some colour to keep us all engaged.
Simpson Grierson - 18 December 1996
'Change and innovation' in 1996.
Kensington Swan - 9 April 2003
I don't even know where to start reading.
