Students from Bond University have defeated the University of Tasmania to win the inaugural Voiceless Australian-New Zealand Intervarsity Moot on Animal Law.

Ed Sinclair and Kate Malouf represented Bond, and Rochelle Hodge and Hannah Salisbury represented UTAS. Malouf won the Best Oralist Award.

Held on the Gold Coast earlier this month, the competition attracted 14 teams and explored legal issues in the emerging field of animal law. The competition is the only animal law moot in Australia and New Zealand.
