The University of Sydney has taken out the 2015 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot title. Held in Washington D.C., this year’s competition attracted 127 teams from more than 100 countries.
The team defeated students from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile to secure this year’s prize. USyd’s Alice Zhou won the prize for best oralist in the grand final, and Sarah Bradbury was awarded the prize for best oralist in the overall competition.
The victory continues Australia’s strong track record in the international rounds, with teams from Down Under winning eight championships since 2000.
Australia was also represented by the University of Western Australia, which reached the semi-finals, alongside Oxford University.
USyd and UWA were chosen to represent Australia at the national competition round held in Canberra earlier this year.
